What I Did on My Blogging Vacation: Part 1

I realized today (while thinking about what to blog about, and how my current knitting is boring the heck out of me... and will surely bore the heck out of you...more slippers) that I have a lot of things to show you from this past year. I really was knitting, even though I wasn't blogging. What else was I going to do while living at Grandma's and house hunting?!

I had a bazillion hours a day to knit. The kids were in school.. and I commuted them 45 minutes each way, from mid-January, until we moved into our house on April 1st. (Because Grandma's house was far away from the town that we decided to move to) Every weekday, I would 'hang out' in my new town, waiting for the kids to be done with school, killing time. (I wasn't going to make that 45 min. trip 4 times a day!) So I got to know every coffee shop, every yarn shop, every library, diner, grocery store, nearby town, and bathroom around... and I knit in all of those places. (well, maybe not in the bathrooms and grocery stores.) It drove me crazy to have to kill time like that... it's funny how everything is relative.... now I would LOVE to have time like that to relax and knit.

So that's my Clapotis! ... and since it's money pit Monday... you get to see our exposed lathe too!!! Aren't you lucky! (Seriously, I don't know if I can keep up with Money Pit Monday on a weekly basis.... how 'bout monthly? ) This is a corner of my 'middle room', we have two living rooms, one goes into the next, and then you go into the dining room from there.. so this is the room in the middle. I don't like calling it 'the middle room' so if you've got any suggestions, let's hear 'em. Ok, so I started stripping wallpaper in here this summer.. and soon realized that the only thing holding up the plaster in this room, was the hideous wallpaper.... and that's why we have exposed lathe. I am hoping that Sid, the Master Plasterer, can come over and get me plastered in the Spring. :) Looks kind of rustic, no? I love my clapotis.. wear it all the time, and I'm wearing right now too (brrr... it's cold in here... no insulation) I knit it out of Noro Silk Garden... not sure what color number it was.
