My View From Here

You can see why I haven't posted all spring..... I can't even drag myself inside to cook dinner at night, or to do laundry during the day. Days like this, I don't even make my bed. It's a wonder I even shower. I just want to be outside in my yard.


I love my little chicken coop. It's bigger inside than it looks. I've been haunting flea markets and antique shops, looking for furniture for it. I'd like to have a small table and chairs inside, so the kids can hang out and play games in there. I'd also like to have a platform made, to put a single mattress on... kind of like a daybed. The kids want to sleep out there in the summer (and secretly, so do I). We're having a screen door made for it too. I never thought I'd be this enamoured with a chicken coop.

This is the view of the meadow behind our yard. Just behind it is a creek.

This little patch in the area between the barn and the coop would be the perfect place for a patio, don't you think? I picture a slate patio, with 4 adirondack chairs in a circle, surrounding an outdoor fireplace. I hope we can fit that into our summer budget, but we may be getting a new septic system, instead of a patio and a big summer vacation. Boo.
